"H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad is very intelligent and very thoughtful. He is humble. He has humility. He is a leader. I met President Assad. I was with a group from the GFTU conference. There were hundreds of us. He shook everyone's hand. A person in front of me said that he wished Assad was President of his country. The president laughed and everyone laughed but I share the sentiment. So, what is Assad like? I was in a group consisting of maybe hundreds of people, but I would be very comfortable sitting and talking with him in a small group. He protects Syria against the worst of the worst. This is why Syrians love him."

A few days ago, President Assad was photographed making a spontaneous visit to a restaurant in Damascus with his wife Asma. When the leader of a nation that is fighting a war is able to drive himself, his wife and his son to a restaurant without security and dine unannounced amongst the people, (he regularly makes similar informal visits to schools and factories, cultural events, mosques, churches and family homes, even to soldiers on the frontline) does it not challenge some of the attitudes that the international community project about him and about his popularity? I cannot imagine one European leader doing the same. See the following article:
"Assad “the Animal” Dines Out July 30. 2019.
By Nahed al Husaini, VT Damascus
They say a photograph is worth lots of words? Thousands? The Assad family was out to dinner in Damascus, nothing unusual there. They drove themselves with no security, not that unusual either.
The hat? That’s chemotherapy for breast cancer, not an attempt to upstage Trump’s Slovenian princess. You don’t want to compare the Assad’s and Trumps. Assad, an MD with a specialty in Ophthalmology, gave up his London practice in 1994 with the death of his brother and entered the Syria Army Officer Training Academy.
He had already served 4 years in the army as a physician. He was now destined to eventually command that same army.
President Assad is the only national leader in the world…we are assuming, we haven’t done a full survey, that can drive himself around, even into war zones.
Some say he is foolhardy but the truth is simple, he may well be the most popular elected leader in the world today. I’ve sat in a hotel lobby with VT staffers Bassam Barakat and Gordon Duff while President Assad has walked in alone for a meeting in the coffee shop.
Well, Nixon would head out to Carvel for ice cream from time to time, or so the secret service tell us. Bill Clinton had his cheese burger habit but we suspect its the Secret Service that brings Trump his nightly bag of Big Mac’s, thank goodness for liposuction.
This week, President Bashar Al Assad and his wife and son Elder son Hafez visited Oregano Restaurant in Damascus unexpectedly.

The Restaurant Manger thanked President Assad for Choosing his humble Restaurant and said “very glad to receive you Mr. President with your family. Your unexpected presence, along with your family, created an ambiance of warmth, love and happiness.”
Assad and his family had quiet dinner at the restaurant, and normally they visit public places in different provinces."
Sheihk Sabah Al-Mohamad, the Kuwaiti Al-Dar Media Group Chairman, met during his recent visit to Damascus with H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad. I have had the honour to meet H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad at his home in Damascus and to have a one and half hour talk with him. It has indeed been the most gratifying human talk with the distinguished Arab Leader. H.E. President Assad was in person receiving me at the entrance of his house smiling with pride, self-confidence and elegance. It has indeed been a cordial social meeting in a magical setting in a white salon, wall, white chairs and white marble overlooking from a wooden Damascene window a green garden, and with a refreshing drink of flowers conducive to the setting whiteness.
Salam e Buongiorno Presidente Assad
I have been receiving scores of solidarity messages from peace activists worldwide. The senders of these electronic messages vehemently lash out and condemn in the strongest way the unjustified tripartite barbaric aggression against Syria. Some of these messages praise and appreciate the hero stances of H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad and his fight against terrorism on behalf of the entire globe. I am indeed honored to publish some of these messages, expressing gratitude and thanks for every peace activist and truth seeker:
I am from the UK and I wanted to get a message to your president.
Not all of us are blinded by the lies of our media, we have done the research ourselves and have seen that all this attack is due to GREED from our very own corrupt governments here in the UK and overseas in America. I am sure there are other countries involved in this also. Before all of this fighting began in your country, it was safe and you had a nice place to live, however, because your very impressive president dropped the American dollar, you are now a threat to America. I do believe this is all how it started…
Please stay strong, one day the slaves will wake up and see how all of us are the creation of a corrupt society and will remove these corrupt people once and for all. Until then people like me will watch in horror at what is happening in your country and hope that Russia and Syria win this awful war going on in your country.
There is nothing I can say or do that will stop this, but I just wanted the president to know that there are people like me who know the truth. So please never give up, ever and stop this greed from taking over your lands.
Regards
Lord Kirk Martin

False flag operation in Syria
I want to tell you, that no matter what our government would say, we are many civilian people in Norway that don't believe the media when they say Assad is behind the attack against civilian. But media don't let him come out and defend himself against these accusations. I hope Assad will talk through youtube or twitter etc. as soon as possible, so we can spread that on internet. Let the truth come out. BLESS SYRIA, PRESIDENT ASSAD AND THE SYRIAN PEOPLE.
Here is a good youtube video come out that discuss the false flag operation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=52s&v=MnSAB4qeDug&app=desktop
The people are on your side.
Sincerely, Mona Burley

"H.E. President Bashar Al-Assad is highly educated with matchless politeness and capacity to analyze and evaluate stances. President Assad leaves his place inside his office and stands in waiting and warmly welcomes his guests, be they officials, journalists or citizens. "It took a tremendous amount of courage from the Valuable and Esteemed President Bashar Al-Assad, to resist the Anglo-American Barbaric Murderers, who have used the most vile, perfidious , monstrous and cunning ways to overthrow him. They have been flooding the world with war crimes, wherever their Cowardice could assassinate State Leaders and their entire populations without fearing any kind of Retaliation, as they only attack defenseless Nations, much weaker than they are in military power, and therefore unable to respond. Never have they fought a loyal fight where powers in presence were equivalent. Remember Irak, Remember Libya, Remember North Korea. Remember Yemen. Always the coward way, always far from their own well preserved homeland, always massacring entire populations, hospitals, children, innocent victims of their appalling State Terrorism. They have done that in Syria. But President Bashar Al Assad is a man of Honor and Duty. He is a Patriot who loves very dearly his people and will defend them until his dying breath. How many Statesmen would have endured so much for the love of their people ? Many other Presidents have flown away from their country to live happily in some golden exile, precisely by lack of love towards their people."

State Senator from Virginia Richard Black stated on Monday, June 19, 2017, citing American intelligence sources that Syrian president Bashar Assad would win 90 percent of the vote in the country should the election be held in the nearest future.
Syrian President Bashar Assad would receive 90 percent of the vote if an election took place at the moment based on recent intelligence gathered, State Senator from Virginia Richard Black told Sputnik.
"I have had people that I worked very closely with who gather intelligence from Syria… and several interesting things come out of the reports I’ve received back," Black noted. "Right now I would say if you could hold an election in Syria… President Assad would probably be reelected with 90% of the vote and that’s including the terrorist occupied areas."
Black, who is the elected representative for Loudoun County, Virginia, personally met with Assad during a visit to Syria in April 2016.
The senator said the intelligence also revealed that "people are totally supportive of President Assad and the first lady Asma Assad, who is I think one of the great first ladies of the world."
"Totally self-sacrificing people," the senator added. "Unlike many leaders of the world they are not greedy, they are not hoarding national wealth, they are sacrificing themselves for the future of their nation. So the people love them."
Black also stressed that there is "total unity" among the Syrian army.
"There is almost total unity of the religions. The Christians, the Alawites, the Sunnis, the Shiites, the Druze, they’re all fighting together to retain Syria," he explained.

President Bashar Al-Assad's unofficial Website: www.presidentassad.net founder and Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Mohammad Abdo Al-Ibrahim, takes pride in publishing the following interview, simultaneously on syriatimes.sy and presidentassad.net, with colleague and friend, Kris Janssen, the distinguished veteran journalist from Belgium, who is also the Chairman of Syrian Friendship Association:
Our exchange of ideas, thoughts and aspirations started about the unjust causes behind the ongoing for years bids as to launch campaigns of slander and smearing ! I recalled what H.E. President Assad said on March 29, 2015, CBS interview, "As long as I have the public support of the Syrian people. That's my legitimacy; legitimacy comes from the inside, but why? I will tell you why. Because the West used to have puppets. Not independent leaders, or officials in any other country. … the West, and especially the United States, don't accept partners. They only accept followers. Even Europe is not partner of the United States. That's to be very frank with you. So, this is their problem with Syria. They need somebody to keep saying yes. Yes-- a puppet. Marionette. And so on."
Is there a president, king, leader worldwide more clean, honest and popular than the president of Syria? NO, we both agreed according to present and documented facts. "…but we’ll never be puppets who work against our interests for their interests," reiterated President Assad in his BBC News interview, February 10th, 2015. "I care a lot about being independent president for independent Syria. And do my best, according to my convictions. That's the most important thing," as declared to ABC's Barbara Walters, December 7, 2011.
You guess Kris! If President Assad-like were to be a presidential candidate in many countries where rulers call for his down in Syria, President Assad-like is surely to be elected, said Mohammad, given the large support shown by world civilians worldwide. Yes, many French voters wrote President Assad's name in their ongoing Presidential elections!
