His Excellency President Bashar Al-Assad has sent a cable of congratulations Friday, November 7, 2008, to the US President-elect Barack Obama.

 Congratulating President Obama, H. E. President Al-Assad voiced his hope that constructive dialogue is to prevail, as to overcome the difficulties which have stood as the obstacle on the way of genuine progress towards peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East Region.
