President Nicolas Sarkozy of France phoned H. E. President Bashar Al-Assad, May 29^th, 2008, and thanked President Al-Assad for his efforts exerted as to make success of the Doha Agreement securing the election of the Lebanese president in accord among the Lebanese.

H. E. President Sarkozy voiced his desire as to bolster the relations between France and Syria, especially at the political and economic levels increasing bilateral coordination as far as the issues of joint interest.

The French President voiced his country’s support for the restoration of the Syrian rights in full, expressing France willingness to provide whatever might push Mideast Peace Process forward.
