President Bashar Assad voiced the hope that the New US Administration would be ' serious' and ' active' as to reactivate Mideast strangling peace process and as to repair the damages inflicted previously on the process.

In reply to another question, His Excellency reiterated Syria's ever adherence and work for Arab solidarity and joint actions. "Syria has been the pioneering in calling for coordination among all tracks of peace. Syria does ever stand with Arab coordination.'' noting to the ongoing contacts with Palestinian officials to this effect.
